The reason I started chess is because it’s a quiet game filled with possibilities. It’s like life and sacrifice.

When I was doing my first game of chess when I was 12. I touch a piece for the first time, I felt powerful. I won without help. I quit chess soon after because I thought it wasn't for girls. So two years later, 2024.. I started loosing motivation in life, didn’t care for exciting events, I felt like something was missing. I started this game once again, the depressed feeling was gone.

LETTER TO YOU ALL - I've decided to take a break from playing online chess on chess.com. Lately, I've been finding it quite dull, and I'm longing for the experience of meeting new people and engaging in over-the-board (OTB) chess. There's something special about the physical interaction, like shaking hands after a win or loss, that I miss. It's been a bit monotonous for me, and I've been reflecting on this. For me, chess has always been a therapeutic activity.

I've been contemplating that perhaps my strong preference for OTB chess has made it challenging for me to fully enjoy playing online. The dynamics and ambiance of both settings are so different that I may need some time to adjust. This explanation resonates with me.

While I won't be as active as before, I still plan to play some daily games. I've decided to keep my account open but will be taking a step back from playing games.
