When not teaching or playing chess, I can be found brainstorming metaphors for chess concepts. Something about... airplanes? 

I've been playing chess on and off since I was a child, and I'm a regular at my local clubs. I'm a school teacher by day and coaching chess is a hobby for me; I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with others, and being part of other people's improvement. I've coached adults and children over the last decade, in person and online, with great success. My approach is fun but also to the point - I'll tell you exactly what you need to hear! And show you how to work on your own as well.
